Although there are some great skin care products on the market, sometimes it’s not enough if you don’t apply them in the correct order. Here’s the perfect skin care routine to follow…
1. WASH YOUR FACE
Firstly, use micellar water to remove your makeup. Wash your face in the morning and at night. Use a small amount of cleanser in the palms of your hands and apply gentle pressure when washing. Thereafter, pat your face dry with a clean towel.
2. APPLY TONER
Pour a few drops of toner onto a cotton pad and gently swipe onto your face. It is recommended to not use exfoliating toner and retinoids or other exfoliators at the same time.
3. APPLY SERUM
Morning is a great time to use a serum with antioxidants, preferably a vitamin C serum. At night, use a moisturizing serum with hyaluronic acid.
4. APPLY EYE CREAM
You can apply regular moisturizer to your under-eye area. If you use a specialized eye cream, you’ll want to layer it underneath moisturizer, since eye creams is thinner than face moisturizers.
5. USE SPOT TREATMENT
We recommend using spot treatment at night. Instead of using acne-fighting ingredients like benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acids with retinol, try using ingredients that keeps skin calm and hydrated.
Use a lightweight lotion for the morning, ideally with SPF 30 or higher. In the evening, try using a thicker night cream.
7. APPLY RETINOID
Retinoids break down in the sun, so you should only use it at night. They also causes your skin to be extra-sensitive to the sun, so sunscreen is a must.
8. APPLY FACE OIL
Apply face oil after your other skin-care products since nothing else will be able to penetrate the oil.
9. APPLY SUNSCREEN
This is the most important part of any skin-care regimen. Protecting your skin from UV rays can prevent skin cancer and signs of aging. When using chemical sunscreens, wait 20 minutes before going outside for the sunscreen to be effective.
